At the core of Greenwich Historical Society is the Bush-Holley House, a National Historic Landmark built in 1730 located in the Cos Cob neighborhood of Greenwich.
The museum's origin extends back to the early 18th century where the residence survived the war on the frontier between loyalist New York and patriot Connecticut. Originally home to people enslaved by the Bush family, who were among the last to experience emancipation in Connecticut, the property later served as the site of the trailblazing Cos Cob American Impressionist art colony.
The Bush-Holley House was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1991 by the National Park Service and is open daily for tours.
